“WE HONOR TERRI’S BIRTHDAY TODAY”

Today is Terri’s birthday! We’re thinking of her and missing her as we do every day. But on this special day and in her honor, we are so excited to share some good news with you. With the help of her family and friends, we are nearing completion of her memoir and aim to publish it later this year! Terri was a gifted and honest writer, whose insights, authentic voice, and tenacious faith were an encouragement to all of us. Before her death in January 2025, Terri had written dozens of essays about her childhood, adolescence, young adulthood, her injury and its aftermath. She had also faithfully posted here on her blog since 2014, bravely and transparently telling the story of her deepening faith amid all the staggering challenges of living with quadriplegia. We will keep you posted about the availability of her memoir. Watch here for more details. Please tell your family, friends and anyone else who could benefit from reading her soon-to-be-published, inspiring story. “I really don’t want to write today, but I know I need to. I need to write about how Satan is messing with my mind. He’s messing with it so much that he’s telling me not to write anything. But I know this is how I fight: I write my feelings, as crazy as they may be, and then find scriptures to refute the craziness.” –Terri Nida, December 2014

About Terri Nida

In August 2013, I fainted in my kitchen and woke up paralyzed from the shoulders down. I am still trying to make sense of all this, but one thing I know is that God is with me and he loves me.
