I am sending this to all my blogging friends asking for your prayers.
Over the last three weeks I have been alternating between the ICU and the step down unit at Duke. I am still in the hospital. What we thought started as a septic UTI, turned out to be aspiration pneumonia. Because of my paralysis and muscle atrophy, I don’t have the lung strength to cough things up, and aspirations are a regular occurrence for me. Because my respiratory system requires more care than most long-term facilities can give, and I can’t continue living in the hospital (although I feel like I’ve moved in permanently), we are trying to find an appropriate home for me. Today or tomorrow I will be meeting with the pulmonology team to see what our next steps are going to be. One option is to get a trachea which would require a couple of more weeks in the hospital. As you can imagine, that is my least favorite route to go; but if that will get me out of here and into a normal living situation – well, as normal as can be – then I’m all for it. Without sounding like I have self-pity and playing a scourge on a violin, the last three weeks have been very difficult physically, emotionally and spiritually. I haven’t thrown out my faith but it’s been difficult accepting everything that’s happening. Thank you in advance for all the responses and well wishes I will get to this post. I may not respond quickly but please know I appreciate all of you.
Sister, thank you for sharing your needs, praying for you today! ⚘

Terri. I am so sorry to hear of this setback. If you posted news of this earlier, I apologize because I missed it somehow.
I will be praying for you Terri, trusting in our Lord Jesus, our Healer, to speak into your body, clearing your lungs. Praying the Blood of Jesus to flow through each of your veins and arteries, giving Strength.
Praying wisdom for the medical team in all decisions. Praying a Facility will be located to care for you properly, and meet each of your needs with care and love, so your life can be “normalized”.
Lord Jesus, I ask You to wrap your arms of love around Terri, and for her to experience Your Presence.
God Bless you Terri. Luv you.

Terri – I hate it that you have been going through so much additional illness and complications. I am praying for your medical team to come up with the very best solution for you so you can get out of the hospital and recover. Praying that you feel the love and presence and peace of God with you through every step of this journey. You are amazing and deeply loved and respected by so many. Your faith and vulnerability encourage me and inspire me. I am praying for you, my friend, and will keep doing that. Much love, Cindy

My dear dear Terri, I’m so sorry that you’ve been having such a difficult time. I’m going to pray right now and keep on praying for God to flood you with his peace, wisdom and trust. You are a faithful woman And I know that you will open yourself up to receive these things. I’ll be waiting for good news. I was just listening to the song “Give me Jesus” and He is yours. And in these times you struggle…remember… all you have to do remember Exodus 14:14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.

My dearest Terri, thank you for your transparency and testimonies. Even when you are at your lowest, you keep reaching for faith while keeping it real. You are not displaying self-pity or playing a scourge on a violin. You’re being honest about what you’re going through. You’re owning it. I can imagine it is/has been difficult physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I have appealed to God, on your behalf, for healing, strength, peace and the fortitude to endure your trials. I’ve asked God to supply you with a fresh anointing so you won’t be weary and not faint. He promised to supply His children with all that they “need” and I believe He will also give us our heart’s desire as long as we continue to stay in relationship with Him. He is still on the throne. My sister, go back to your blogs and read them. I believe you will find strength there. Even the titles of your posts have a lot of meaning. I will continue to lift your name up in prayer!
I love you, girlie!

Oh, Terri, I am so sorry. May our good Lord be with you and hold you in His peace. Hang in there and remember – this body is just the tent. Your permanent dwelling place is being made ready for you in eternity.
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Praying for you Terri! One of the best but still to this day one of the hardest verses for me to really process in the Bible is Job 13:15 “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.”

Dear Terri, I wondered after my email how you were doing and have been praying before now. Our Lord Jesus is with you. In His powerful name, I pray that you know His presence and power. If you know Isaiah 41:10, recite this and remember that He is with you.
Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Do you have family and friends with you?
Much love, prayers, and blessings in our precious Lord. Fran

Terri,
Thank you for the way you share your inner self. The way you honestly and openly work through your thought process and allow us a glimpse into the workings of your faith. Like David, true faith is full of questioning and wrestling. I am inspired by you. I am praying for you, sister. I don’t know what is next for you but I know God holds you in the palm of his hand.
